Sony Fountain - Product Information.

The Sony 'Fountain' is named from the myth of a fountain of knowledge. The device provides such knowledge by 'showering' the user with information. Its form is based on a book in a cradle - the screen unit is in the shape of an open book with the adjacent arms as the cradle.

It has the ability to censor TV programmes and films via a remote 'V-chip' in the product. The Fountain must be 'tuned' in to the television, similar to a universal type remote control.

Programmes and films can be selected and entered into a personal schedule which displays any overlapping programme times as well as regular details and any alternate programmes also selected, eg. 1st choice at 9pm - channel 1, 2nd choice at 9pm - channel 2 etc.

Personal accounts are selected for each user. These accounts remember personal preferences such as genres, channels and timings of programmes the user is most likely to see. Programme listings contain information such as the title, BBFC classification if available, channel, time, brief description and an option to view its trailer if there is one.

The screen can be rotated to allow for a flexible viewing angle when held in the hand or resting on a surface. The Sony Fountain is the perfect accessory for watching television - it is a user friendly source of vast information for any individual or family.
